C

Clitellum

(saddle) the band near the anterior of the worm which all adult earthworms have. This structure produces the mucus used in cocoon formation.

Composter

A group of earthworms that tend to overlap slightly with the characteristics of epigeic worms. They are generally found in areas containing large quantities of organic matter such as in compost heaps and under cow pats. These worms consume little soil and mainly feed directly on organic matter.
They are red and often posses a stripy appearance when stretched out.
